Terms of Service

Last updated: August 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Familia, including the Familia mobile app, web companion, website, API, MCP connector, and related online services (together, the "Service"). Familia is provided by Asynq Labs LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States ("Asynq Labs", "we", "us", or "our").

By using Familia, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Familia is

Familia is a family planning and household coordination service. It helps households manage tasks, plans, reminders, responsibilities, shared lists, attachments, family board context, and related companion workflows.

Familia is not an emergency service, medical service, legal service, financial advisor, childcare provider, or professional safety system. Do not rely on Familia for urgent, safety-critical, legal, medical, financial, or emergency decisions.

2. Accounts, households, and access

Some Familia features can be used without creating a traditional account. Household access may be linked to a device identity, app identity, sign-in provider, invitation, QR pairing, MCP token, OAuth grant, or other authorized access method.

You are responsible for keeping your devices, sign-in methods, access tokens, pairing sessions, and household invitations secure. You should only invite people you trust to a household. Actions taken through your authorized access may affect household content.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe the Service is being misused, abused, accessed without authorization, or used in violation of these Terms.

3. Family content and attachments

You and other household members may create, upload, edit, or share content in Familia, including task titles, notes, descriptions, plans, schedules, checklist/list content, photos, file metadata, locations, member names, and related household context ("User Content").

You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate, secure, maintain, improve, and support the Service, including storing, processing, transmitting, displaying, backing up, and deleting User Content according to your actions and our retention practices.

You are responsible for the User Content you add to Familia and for having the rights and permissions needed to share it with your household or with connected services.

4. ChatGPT, MCP, API, and connected assistants

Familia may allow you to connect ChatGPT or another MCP-compatible assistant through OAuth, an MCP token, or another authorized connection. When you connect an assistant, the assistant may retrieve Familia data or perform actions in Familia according to the permissions you approve.

Read access may allow the assistant to retrieve and summarize household names, member display names, tasks, plans, schedules, calendar event metadata, checklist/list content, photo attachment metadata, item IDs, links, notes, descriptions, dates, and locations.

Write access may allow the assistant to create, update, cancel, or delete tasks, plans, lists, and attachments in Familia. You are responsible for reviewing assistant-suggested actions before approving or relying on them.

Data sent to ChatGPT or another assistant is also handled by that assistant provider under its own terms and privacy policy. You can revoke Familia MCP or assistant access where the product provides that control.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Familia to:

  • break the law or violate another person's rights
  • upload content you do not have permission to use
  • harass, threaten, abuse, or exploit another person
  • store or share illegal, harmful, or sexually exploitative content
  • attempt to access another household or account without authorization
  • reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service
  • bypass rate limits, usage limits, security controls, billing controls, or access controls
  • use Familia for spam, surveillance, or unauthorized tracking

We may remove content or restrict access when needed to protect users, the Service, or legal compliance.

6. Subscriptions, purchases, and app stores

Some Familia features may require a paid plan, subscription, entitlement, or in-app purchase.

Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are also governed by the applicable store terms, billing rules, refund policies, and account controls. Familia does not control app store billing decisions.

Use of Familia services, the website, web companion, API, MCP connector, and related online services remains governed by these Terms regardless of the purchase channel.

7. Third-party services

Familia may integrate with third-party services, such as sign-in providers, app stores, payment processors, calendar providers, cloud infrastructure, analytics or reliability providers, and AI or assistant platforms.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, or decisions.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

By using Familia, you acknowledge that we process data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Service availability and changes

Familia is provided as an evolving product. We may add, change, limit, suspend, or remove features at any time. We may also update these Terms when the Service, legal requirements, or business needs change.

We try to keep Familia reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent availability of any feature, or that all data will always be recoverable.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Familia is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that reminders, notifications, assistant actions, calendar data, or schedules will always be accurate or delivered on time.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Asynq Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, or household decisions made in reliance on the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or USD 100, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

12. Termination

You may stop using Familia at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users or the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.

Termination may affect access to household content, backups, MCP connections, web companion pairings, and paid features.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
